Shearing

Last Friday was a lovely sunny day at Stoop and so we had our first day of shearing for 2011. Two local lads came to make a start and from a 9.30am start to a 7pm finish they sheared around 350 between them. Saturday a different 2 came and sheared a similar number and all being well we will finish off this Thursday. The British Wool Board have informed us that wool price is going to be up this year so hopefully we'll make around £1.50/fleece this time. I think the sheep are happier to have their fleeces gone.
